120-Night Sleep Trial

What is the Sit 'n Sleep 120-Night Sleep Trial?

You have 120 nights to make sure your new mattress is the right fit. Sleep on it for at least 30 nights to let your body adjust. If it's still not right, you have an additional 90 nights to visit any Sit 'n Sleep store in Southern California and select another mattress. Learn more on the 120-Night Sleep Trial page.

Why do I have to keep my new mattress for 30 days?

Most mattresses take 8 to 10 weeks to break in, and your body needs time to adjust, especially if your old mattress was worn out. The first week often feels strange even on the right mattress. By week three or four you'll know.

When does my sleep trial start?

Your trial begins on the date your mattress is delivered or picked up. Save your delivery receipt or invoice. You'll need it to start an exchange.

What voids the 120-night sleep trial?

The trial doesn't apply to closeouts, floor samples, or mattresses found to be dirty, stained, or abused. A mattress protector is the easiest way to protect your trial eligibility.

Can I use the sleep trial more than once?

No. The 120-night trial allows one exchange or return per mattress purchase. After that exchange, the trial is complete.

Returns & Exchanges

What is the Sit 'n Sleep return and exchange policy by brand?

It depends on the brand. Six brands allow a one-time exchange or return with a flat $99.99 delivery fee. All other brands allow a one-time exchange only, with a 20% restocking fee capped at $500.

Brand Exchange or Return Fee
Purple, Avocado, Nectar, DreamCloud, Helix, Casper One-time exchange or return $99.99 delivery fee, no restocking
All other mattress brands One-time exchange only 20% restocking fee, capped at $500
How do I start an exchange or return?

Visit any of our 37+ Southern California stores in person, or call customer service at 1-800-961-1997. Bring or have ready your original delivery receipt.

Can I return a non-mattress product?

Refunds on non-mattress products are available only if the item is brand new and in its original manufacturer packaging. If it's been opened or used, we'll work with you on a warranty replacement or repair through the manufacturer. The warranty can be voided if a product is found to be unsanitary or abused.

Warranty

How does the Sit 'n Sleep mattress warranty work?

Every mattress is covered by a manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Warranty length and terms vary by brand. For certain manufacturers you'll file the claim directly with them. For others, Sit 'n Sleep files the claim on your behalf. To start a claim, call 1-800-961-1997 with your original invoice or law tag. Full process on our Warranty Information page.

Does staining void my mattress warranty?

Yes. A mattress found to be unreasonably unsanitary, stained, or abused at any point during ownership voids both the 120-night sleep trial and the manufacturer warranty. A mattress protector is the single best investment you can make to keep coverage intact.

What kind of defects are covered under warranty?

Typically, manufacturing defects like body impressions beyond 1.5 inches deep, broken coils, or split seams. Normal wear, comfort preference, and damage caused by an improper foundation aren't covered. Each manufacturer publishes its own exclusions.

Does my mattress need a specific foundation for warranty coverage?

Yes. Most warranties require a matching brand foundation or an approved adjustable base. Using an improper or worn-out base can void the warranty. For platform beds without a box spring, a Bunkie Board or ultra-low-profile foundation is recommended. Ask your sleep consultant which option is approved for your mattress.

Delivery & Setup

Does Sit 'n Sleep deliver to my area?

Yes. Sit 'n Sleep delivers throughout Southern California: Los Angeles County, Orange County, the Inland Empire (San Bernardino and Riverside counties), Ventura County, and San Diego (Tuesdays and Saturdays only). How fast is delivery in the rest of Southern California?

Next-day local delivery is available in most of Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire, and Ventura County on in-stock mattresses ordered by 4 PM Pacific. Special orders and large items may take longer.

How much does delivery cost?

Three options, depending on what you're ordering:

Service Cost Includes
Free UPS Shipping Free Bedding, accessories, and select mattress brands: Purple, Avocado, Nectar, DreamCloud, Helix, Casper, and Hybrid Infinity. 7–10 business days. No haul-away or setup.
White Glove (orders under $1,000) $69.99 Full setup of your new mattress + complete removal and haul-away of your old mattress set.
White Glove (orders over $1,000) $99.99 Same as above — setup and haul-away included.
White Glove with adjustable base $99.99–$129.99 Full setup including the adjustable base + haul-away of old set.

White glove service is available within a 10-mile radius of any Sit 'n Sleep store. Delivery beyond that radius is available at checkout with an additional ZIP-based fee. Full details on the Delivery & Shipping page.

Does Sit 'n Sleep haul away my old mattress?

Yes, old mattress removal is available on most full-service delivery orders. Your old mattress is removed at the same time your new one is delivered. Note that ship-to-home orders via UPS do not include haul-away.

Do you set up the new mattress?

Full-service local delivery includes setup of your new mattress or furniture set. Confirm at checkout or with your sleep consultant.

What is the difference between local delivery and ship-to-home?

Local delivery (White Glove) uses our own trucks with full setup and old-mattress haul-away included. Ship-to-home ships free to your door via UPS in 7 to 10 business days and is available on these brands: Purple, Avocado, Nectar, DreamCloud, Helix, Casper, and Hybrid Infinity. Bedding and accessories also ship free via UPS. Ship-to-home does not include setup or haul-away.

What's the delivery radius? Do you deliver outside of it?

White Glove local delivery is available within a 10-mile radius of any Sit 'n Sleep store. Since we have 37+ stores across Southern California, most addresses in Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire, and Ventura County fall inside that radius. Addresses beyond 10 miles are still serviceable — an additional ZIP-based fee is calculated at checkout. San Diego is a separate route (Tuesdays and Saturdays).

Does Sit 'n Sleep ship nationwide?

Yes, on select products. Direct ship from the manufacturer is available on select mattresses and bedding to customers outside California. To check availability, add an item to your cart and enter your address at checkout — eligibility, lead time, and pricing display automatically. Need help? Call 1-800-908-0354 or use Live Chat through our contact page.

Can I pick up my mattress from a Sit 'n Sleep store?

Yes. Pickup is available at many of our locations on in-stock items. Call ahead to confirm availability using our store locator.

Financing & Payment

Does Sit 'n Sleep offer financing?

Yes — four options.

  • Sit 'n Sleep Synchrony HOME Credit Card. No Interest If Paid In Full within 6 or 12 months on qualifying purchases. Equal monthly payment plans for 36 months are also available.
  • Fortiva for secondary financing.
  • Progressive Leasing for a No Credit Check option.
  • In-store Cross Check program for 90 days.

Apply or prequalify (no impact to your credit score) at our financing page. A 10% down payment is required on in-store purchases and the Synchrony HOME Credit Card cannot be used for the down payment.

Does prequalifying for financing affect my credit score?

No. Prequalification through Synchrony has no impact on your credit bureau score and you get a decision in seconds. A full credit application is run only if you choose to proceed with the application.

What if I don't have credit or want a no-credit-check option?

Use Progressive Leasing for a No Credit Check lease-to-own option, or our in-store Cross Check program for 90 days. Both are available without going through a traditional credit application.

What forms of payment does Sit 'n Sleep accept?

Major credit cards, debit cards, the Sit 'n Sleep Synchrony HOME Credit Card, Fortiva financing, Progressive Leasing, and cash in store. Most customers complete payment at the time of purchase so delivery day is straightforward — your sleep consultant will walk you through the easiest option for you.

Low Price Guarantee

Does Sit 'n Sleep price match?

Yes. Our Low Price Guarantee has been in place since 1978: "We'll beat anyone's advertised price, or your mattress is Freeee!" We don't have to do it often because our pricing is already low, but we honor the promise.

How does the Low Price Guarantee work?

At the time of purchase or within 120 days after, bring us proof of a lower advertised price on the same mattress and we'll beat it. The lower price must be on an identical mattress (same brand, model, size, and configuration) from an authorized retailer.

What counts as "proof" of a lower price?

A live ad, current website listing, or printed circular showing the competitor's name, the exact mattress, and the price. Marketplace listings (eBay, Facebook Marketplace, etc.) and unauthorized resellers don't qualify.

California Mattress Recycling Fee

What is the California Mattress Recycling Fee?

California state law requires retailers to collect an $18.00 recycling fee per piece on every mattress, foundation, box spring, and adjustable base sold (effective April 1, 2026). The amount was set by the state and is not controlled by Sit 'n Sleep. The fee funds the California Mattress Recycling Program operated by the Mattress Recycling Council.

How is the recycling fee calculated for my order?

The fee is charged per piece. A standard mattress is one piece ($18). A king mattress set with two foundation pieces would be three pieces total ($54). The fee appears as a separate line item on your receipt and is not subject to sales tax.

Where does the recycling fee go?

The fee is remitted in full to the Mattress Recycling Council to fund California's mattress recycling program. Up to 80% of mattress materials can be recycled. As a California resident, you can drop off your old mattress at no cost at participating collection sites — find one at byebyemattress.com.

Can I recycle my old mattress through Sit 'n Sleep?

Yes. If you choose haul-away at delivery, your old mattress is removed at the same time your new one is delivered and disposed of responsibly. For other disposal options, see our guide on how to get rid of a mattress properly.

BedMATCH & Buying a Mattress

What is BedMATCH and is it free?

BedMATCH is our in-store diagnostic fitting system. You lie on a sensor-equipped bed and it measures your body type, pressure points, and spinal alignment, then recommends mattresses suited to you. It takes about five minutes, it's free, and there's no purchase required. Learn more on the BedMATCH page.

Where can I try BedMATCH near me?

BedMATCH is available at every Sit 'n Sleep location: 37+ stores across Los Angeles, Orange County, the Inland Empire, and Ventura County. Use our store locator to find the nearest one.

Are Sit 'n Sleep's sleep consultants trained?

Yes — and our sleep consultants average over 10 years of experience. Every consultant is trained on mattress materials, sleep science, and the BedMATCH fitting process. They're here to help you find the right mattress for your body and your budget.

How long does it take to buy a mattress?

Most customers are in and out within 30 to 60 minutes. That includes BedMATCH (about 5 minutes), trying your top recommendations in store, and finalizing delivery and payment.

What if I don't know what kind of mattress I need?

Start with BedMATCH or one of our buying guides. We've built guides for the most common sleep needs, including back pain, hip pain, sciatica, side sleepers, back sleepers, and couples. Browse all on the guides hub.

Sizes & Mattress Care

What are the standard mattress sizes?

Mattresses come in five standard sizes (exact dimensions vary slightly by manufacturer):

  • Twin: 39" × 75"
  • Twin XL: 38" × 80"
  • Full: 54" × 75"
  • Queen: 60" × 80"
  • Eastern King: 76" × 80"
  • California King: 72" × 84"
How often should I rotate my mattress?

Weekly for the first few weeks to properly break in the comfort layers, then every 3 to 4 months. This distributes wear evenly and helps minimize body impressions. Most modern mattresses are one-sided and should be rotated head-to-foot, not flipped.

How often should I replace my mattress?

Most mattresses should be evaluated every 7 to 10 years. Signs it's time: waking up with aches you didn't have before, sleeping better in hotel beds, visible sagging beyond 1.5 inches, or feeling tired after a full night's sleep.

Can the wrong mattress cause back pain?

Yes. A mattress that's too soft lets your hips sink and pulls your spine out of alignment. One that's too firm puts pressure on your hips and shoulders. Either can leave you waking up sore. Start with our back pain mattress guide or try BedMATCH in store.

Pillows & Protectors

How often should I replace my pillows?

Every 1 to 2 years for most pillows. Your pillow provides about 30% of the total support you need at night and keeps your head, neck, shoulders, and spine aligned. A flat or lumpy pillow can undo a good mattress.

Do I need a mattress protector?

Yes, and the reason goes beyond keeping it clean. A protector blocks bedbugs, allergens, dust mites, mold, mildew, bacteria, body oils, and dead skin cells from working into your mattress. It also keeps your 120-night trial and manufacturer warranty intact, since staining voids both.

Do I need a box spring or can I use a platform bed?

A matching box spring is designed to work as a set with your new mattress, and using an older or non-matching foundation can void your warranty. For platform beds, we recommend a Bunkie Board or ultra-low-profile foundation instead of a traditional box spring. Ask your sleep consultant what's approved for your specific mattress.
