Sit n’ Sleep Partners with Habitat for Humanity
Sit n’ Sleep has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help families in the Los Angeles area. The families will receive new mattresses, box springs, and frames, courtesy of Sit n’ Sleep. Sit n’ Sleep’s efforts will make sure that more than 80 families will have a good place to sleep with a roof over their heads. Both companies are very proud and happy to be helping the families of Los Angeles.
Sit n’ Sleep will be “adopting” every home Habitat for Humanity has built in the LA area. “We are so grateful and touched by this generous donation of beds to our partner families, many of whom move into their new Habitat home with minimal furnishings,” said Erin Rank, President/CEO of HFH GLA.
According to the President of California’s number one mattress retailer (Sit n’ Sleep), Nelson Bercier, it’s a natural partnership. “They build homes and we provide home furnishings. It’s also a perfect fit because Habitat for Humanity is right in our own backyard. We’re a very hands-on company so this partnership allows us to meet the families and pound some nails.”
Habitat for Humanity has long been known for its international efforts to help families in need gain access to simple, decent, and affordable housing. More than 1.6 billion people in the world live in substandard housing, and Habitat for Humanity aims to reduce that number significantly.
With partners like Habitat for Humanity, Sit n’ Sleep is helping the families of Los Angeles in new ways. According to Bercier, Sit n’ Sleep has committed over $150,000 because, “Sleep is important for both mental and physical health. If we can bring some additional happiness to these homes it would be a big help.”
Sit n’ Sleep is proud to be working alongside Habitat for Humanity. We hope that our company’s contribution to these families will mean just as much to them as the time our employees volunteered to help out in the building process.
