Today, Sit ‘n Sleep is recognized as the finest specialty sleep shop in the United States, with the industry’s best sales staff. We have also become known to Southern Californians as the place to buy a mattress, with the help of Larry and Irwin and their memorable messages across radio and television airwaves of “You’re killing me, Larry!” and “We’ll beat any advertised price, or your mattress is FREEEE!”

At Sit ‘n Sleep, the fulfillment of one dream lends itself to three more, and the journey continues. With 37 superstore locations (and counting) throughout Southern California, and a 240,000 square foot distribution center and corporate office space in Gardena, CA, employing over 200 people, we continue to dream bigger dreams for our company, our people, and our customers. With the addition of our online store, we bring our customers Bedding That Fits ™. Our goal is to match our expertise and knowledge of mattresses with our understanding of how frustrating it can be for our customers to find bedding that provides both fit and style. We intend to become the preferred source of luxury bedding at the right price that fits “your mattress and your style”. Our hope is to help our customers create a bedroom that is a refuge from the stresses of daily life and to help them enjoy sweet dreams of their own.

Sit 'n Sleep takes pride in offering a benefits program which provides flexibility for the diverse and changing needs of our employees. Full time employees (working at least 32 hours per week) are eligible for group benefits on the first day of the month following (30) days of continuous regular employment for all coverages with the exception of long-term disability; LTD has a one year waiting period.

Training & Development


New hire training

Each new Sales employee undergoes two weeks of in-depth training in order to learn the ins and outs of our business. The training includes time to learn about the products we sell, a tour of a manufacturer's factory, specific role-play training with the manufacturers in a store-setting and time with every department within the company.

Leadership training

Any eligible employee who wants to become a sales manager can do so by taking part in our leadership training program, which is aimed at helping you become a stronger leader and mentor. Employees in this program engage in both classroom learning and group discussions for about one year.

Customer service training

All of our employees go through extensive customer service training in order to learn how to make the customer experience more positive. This program is extremely important, as all of our employees deal with customers in one way or another.

Other training

We offer tuition reimbursement of up to $5,000 per year, computer training classes, paid attendance at job-related seminars, and vendor product training.


We want all of our employees to prosper and grow, which is why we offer a variety of career development paths to help you succeed. Employees who show us that they’re willing to work hard and go above and beyond the normal call of duty will be rewarded through promotions, vendor contests, and recognition awards.
