Sit ’n Sleep is thrilled to present the children’s book "While Ana Sleeps" to adventurous children everywhere! The story is of a young girl named Ana who worries that she’s missing out on incredible adventures every night while she is asleep. While Ana Sleeps helps educate children that a healthy night’s sleep is the key to truly enjoy all of the amazing activities in their lives.
Not only is the book fun and educational, but it gives back to our communities. All proceeds from While Ana Sleeps will be donated to PADRES Contra El Cáncer, a non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families, and to the Jenesse Center, a shelter that provides housing and assistance to families escaping domestic violence.
"While Ana Sleeps" is written by Jennifer Mendelsohn, whose work has appeared in The New York Times, People Magazine, and USA Today. Illustrated by Dan Hamilton, who has worked with Disney and Warner Brothers.

PADRES began its mission 30 years ago to support the needs of the Latino community who have a higher risk of medical problems due to a series of complex factors, including language barriers, socio-economic challenges and limited access to community resources. Through culturally relevant and linguistically-appropriate Programs, PADRES bridges these gaps to promote a comprehensive understanding of childhood cancer and other blood disorders, as well as, effective methods for treatment.
Today, as the only organization of its kind in the United States, PADRES' unique programs, activities and services, benefit childhood cancer patients from all ethnic and economic backgrounds, serving families from initial diagnosis to survivorship.
PADRES Contra El Cáncer (PADRES) is an organization committed to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families.
Jenesse seeks to prevent and end the cycle of domestic violence through youth programming, education, public awareness and outreach initiatives, public policy and advocacy strategies and collaboration with key partners.
Jenesse’s mission is to provide victims of domestic violence and their children with a comprehensive centralized base of support that is culturally responsive, and ensures their transition from immediate crisis to stability and self-sufficiency.
As of 12/30/2015, California state law requires retailers to collect an $11 recycling fee on each mattress and each box spring sold. (I.E. A recycling fee of $22 must be assessed for the purchase of one mattress with one box spring.) The amount of the fee was mandated by the state and is not set by individual retailers.
